Your flatmate won't be able to ping anything on the 172.16.x.x address range as those addresses are not routable, they will never see each other. Can you connect to the internet with your Thinkpad (you didn't mention it so just checking). Have you turned off turned off any and all firewalls and tried connecting? Yes, I tried it with the difference that I could then ping my iPhone from my TP.
CANON MP560 DRIVER WINDOWS XP MAC
The Mac got 192.168.1.2 Do you have Network Discovery and File & Print Sharing enabled? Yes. Are all devices getting their IP addresses via dhcp or does any of them have a static IP assigned? My flatmates Mac has a static IP that actually is in a whole different range. Is everything wireless in your nework or is your Thinkpad wired? Everything wireless, not a single wire in this household.
How do you have your network setup as? Homegroup, Work or Public? Right now it's homegroup, tried Work before which didnt change the situation. I'll go through your questions step by step so you can see the situation in more detail. First of all: I'm online with my Thinkpad under Win7 right now, so yes, I am actually connected to the wireless network and my internet is running. Hi to you two and thanks for the replies. Who can help me to solve this problem? After 2 days of trying to set up this thing I'm really lost AND yet unable to print oX Thanks! Interesting phenomenon on network side: 1) My Win7-Thinkpad is not able to ping the printer 2) My flatmates Mac is able to ping the printer 3) My flatmates Mac is unable to ping my Win7 Thinkpad 4) My iPhones is unable to ping either printer or Win7 Thinkpad, but can ping the flatmates Mac. at all! I've then tried with the windows built-in network thing from the start menu (start/printers) - same problem. Obviously my Win7 cannot find the printer in the network. However this step always fails upon connecting to the printer.

Following the manual further I installed the software on my Win7 thinkpad via the provided driver-cd. The device connects to my WPA2 protected home network after typing in the passphrase, gets dhcp information and claims to be up and running. So I followed the instructions to set up the printer which worked flawless. I want to use the wireless networking capability of the device as a) there is no usb cable provided in the package and dont have one atm ( b) it's nicer than running around with a usb cable. Topic: pixma mp560 windows 8.1 scanner network issuesĬlick here to view the reply and mark one as an Accepted Solution. It still requires each of the users to scan using only the slave computer and not their own computer. We have worked around the issue by using the slave computer to scan directly to mapped network drive where all the other computers on the network can have access to the newly scanned item. It would be nice to use the Canon Pixma MP560 as a NETWORK scanner.
